Hi guys, so this is what i’ve been working on throughout the later part of the semester at uni. Basically my way of trying to find an interpretation that included elements of baroque architecture and also details and silhouettes of gentleman’s jackets. I was greatly inspired by stories i researched concerning the eighteenth century french aristocracy and their various decadent escapades and trends. One nobleman at the time caused quite a stir by personalising the underside of his lapels as well as his stockings, jacket lining and cravat. I tried to work to create something similar in relation to the jacket but with my own spin on the entire idea. In this case the jacket had floor plan details that were hand drawn onto the white silk, with beading representing chandeliers from a birds eye perspective. There was also some research into ceiling cornices, which i tried to represent using the intended right angled pockets at the front. It was designed more with the editorial category in mind rather than anything to be worn down the stress (I certainly wouldn’t object to either!)

Would love to know what you guys think about this piece and the photoshoot! Apparently menswear is a possibility for a studio component next year so i’m absolutely freaking out with excitement!

Quick thanks to my gorgeous friend J for being such a marvelous model, you absolutely killed it if i do say so myself <3 Any comments on facebook or emails would be greatly supported.

Thanks for reading! Have a good weekend guys xoxo
